MAKE BELIEVE

When you’re a kid, your internal reality doesn’t have to match the external one. And for most kids, that’s a darn good thing due to the simple fact that it usually doesn’t.

As I remember it, being transported into worlds unknown was as easy as removing the lid from the toy chest. Almost as if by osmosis, simple inanimate objects unleashed the transforming power of the imagination–a force so mysterious and special that, even today, we still don’t really understand it.

Looking back, I can see that the daily escape into ‘make believe’ was one of the greatest experiences a kid could have. I often wonder why those days had to end.
