THINGS HANDED DOWN

You don’t have to travel far on the Great Plains to find that rare breed of people who cling to the traditions of days long gone. Defiantly carrying out their daily rituals, things are exactly the same today as they were yesterday–and by sheer will, they’ll be the same tomorrow.

To stand fast in an age that boasts of the most profound and prolific changes that recorded history has ever known can’t be an easy thing to do. Nor can it be popular. But to experience it–even for only a few hours–was something very, very special.
