With too much month left at the end of the money, many Americans have been effectively cut loose. Working to squeeze the middle class, exorbitant gas prices, the rising cost of tuition, outrageous credit card fees, and the burden of daycare have created such a serious strain on household coffers that many Americans have simply given up.
This doesn’t even take into account the demise of social security and the elusiveness of health care. Like something out of a science fiction novel, more than 46 million U.S. citizens don’t have health insurance. This equates to every resident living in the 51 most populated cities in America.
Left behind indeed.
