WHEN ANGELS TURN AWAY

Far too often, we do things we regret. Exquisitely painful, our actions cause us great remorse for a time–sometimes a long, long time. But as days pass, we are somehow granted the grace to face our transgressions. In an epiphany of stark clarity, we come to see a most unattractive side of our existence; a facet of our being so flawed it cuts us to the core. Filled with remorse, we are moved to seek forgiveness and make amends. And, somehow, we experience restoration. Gloriously, we are made whole again.

But there are times when the hurts don’t heal and the remorse never fully departs. Under a great weight, we carry these regrets with us throughout our lives. Coming to grips with our fate, we still can’t help but wonder why healing doesn’t come.
