There are places on the Great Plains that are so beautiful they’ll stop you dead in your tracks. This abandoned church in Dannevirk, NE is such a place. Regarded by many as just another casualty of the great Dust Bowl, I find it hard to understand how anyone who stumbles upon what’s left of this town, isn’t moved to the very core of their being.
Sadly, because of its remoteness, it’s probably a place I’ll never see again. My only hope is that I can take Betty Smith’s words to heart.
