RIPOSA IN PACE

Photographs by David Hunnicutt
If you had dwelt on earth still, I should have come to you and you would have taught me to love and to approach thine light, but you are gone away to higher worlds, I know not where you dwell, spirit that I love. Do not leave me alone. If your spirit dwells still sometime on the earth, where you loved and suffered, let it dwell with me, the one who loves you, and give me only once a token, that you live and are the same, and that my spirit could reach thine. And if you give it to me, I shall follow your footsteps and be your love now and always. Perhaps I shall be it in all cases, but you know how hard it is to be alone. Come to me, be with me…
