Although the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Obert, Nebraska (population 41) closed down years ago, many of the faithful live on. Even after all these years, its remarkable how some can still recall–in surprisingly vivid detail–how the sermons were always 10 minutes too long.

What a brilliant photo! I love the texture, I love the lines, I love every bit of it. As for the subject itself, you have to wonder what this church was like…not to mention the town itself…back in the day. Now to have only 41 people, what else could possibly be left?
