EDDYVILLE, NE

“Every tradition grows more venerable as time passes
and the reverence due to it increases from generation
to generation. And when enough time passes, the tradition
finally becomes holy and inspires awe.”

~Friedrich Nietzsche

For forty years, Eddyville, NE (pop. 94) has attracted cowboys from Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Kansas and Texas to take part in the town’s annual rodeo. Passed down from generation to generation, this rodeo has become a sacred event for riders and townspeople alike.

After making quick work of his rider, a saddle bronc heads for the gate.
