There are an infinite number of universes existing side-by-side
through which our consciousnesses constantly pass. In the
universes, all possibilities exist. You are alive in some, long dead in
others, and never existed in still others. Many of our “ghosts”
could indeed be visions of people going about their business in a
parallel universe or another time–or both.”

~Paul Eno, taken from Faces At The Window

In the recently-restored Kensington Mansion, it is believed that Rachel Agnes Kensington–the daughter of the 19th century land-baron Appomattox Kensington–still plays the family’s organ in the middle of the night. Despite numerous attempts to prove otherwise, the legend remains more fact than fiction.

This photo was taken in the parlor of the newly-restored Kensington Mansion. Legend holds that Kensington’s daughter was tragically trapped inside as the antebellum architectural treasure was completely destroyed by fire in the winter of 1856. Eerily, as flames engulfed the mansion, organ music was heard coming from inside until the entire east-wing was completely burned to the ground.
