Santiago Calatrava Valls (born July 28, 1951) is an internationally recognized and award-winning Valencian Spanish architect, sculptor and structural engineer whose principal office is in Zurich, Switzerland. Known worldwide for his breathtaking architectural creations, Calatrava is the mastermind behind the Milwaukee Museum of Art–one of the most beautiful buildings in the United States. For his accomplishments, he is now classed among the elite designers of the world.
