HIGHWAY 36

Spanning more than 400 miles from end to end, Highway 36 can make a person feel small and insignificant. Along this stretch of Kansas highway, the fields of grain extend from horizon to horizon. The sky is open and unobstructed. And this lonely two-lane ribbon of blacktop simply stretches on and on and on.

And that’s when it hits you.

When you travel Highway 36, you are on your own. Hard to describe, the feeling is at once exhilarating and ominous–and I guess that’s the intrigue. Although you are utterly alone and undisturbed, the senses are keen and sharp. The mind is on high alert.

And the revelations are simply remarkable.
