SCARS

“…You never know exactly what kind of terrible shit is going to come down on you in that town, but you
can always count on *something*. Every time I go to Chicago I come away with scars.”

~Hunter S. Thompson, passage taken from “Fear and Loathing…”

After being washed out in Chicago with multiple delays at O’Hare, I’m reminded that–without question–there is a nasty side to this city.

The weather is perpetually miserable here–which makes it an odd place to have one of the world’s largest airports. It seems that whenever I pass through this wretched place (which is a lot), I inevitably wind up being soaked to the bone standing in a line that’s 50 deep waiting for some broken down yellow Taxi holding a hotel voucher to the Drury Inn and wondering if I’ll ever see my bags again.

Terrible shit indeed.
